Kirchdorf/Haag, August 5, 2019. The Schletter Group has supplied the mounting systems for one of the largest rooftop projects in Germany for the project developer MaxSolar GmbH.More than 20,600 modules generate up to 6.44 MWp of environmentally friendly solar power at the Fiege Mega Center in Dieburg, Hesse, a logistics hall measuring around 90,000 square meters.MaxSolar has thus implemented the first roof-top solar power plant following a tender by the Federal Network Agency. The new, ballast and wind-optimized Schletter system FixGrid 18 was installed."The MaxSolar GmbH project was not only special because of its size and complexity, but also structurally demanding," said Björn Boehlkau, the responsible Sales Manager for Solar Projects at the Schletter Group, who oversaw the project with his colleague Stephan Wild, Head of Technical Consulting for Roof Systems ."Due to the low residual load-bearing capacity of the flat roof, the PV system had to be planned and installed with as little ballast as possible and still be able to withstand high wind loads."The new Schletter system FixGrid 18 was therefore used. Schletter specifically optimized the system in 2018 with a number of design improvements - especially with regard to statics and resilience.Windsafe sheets and ballast trays only have to be installed where they are technically necessary. At the same time, the FixGrid 18 is significantly more resilient than its predecessor. Thanks to an optimized profile geometry, the system can now also absorb very high snow loads.A team of 25 people needed just eight weeks for the installation. The high degree of prefabrication of the system helped here. For example, the FixGrid 18 has a newly developed screw-in connector that is pre-assembled at the factory and can be fitted without tools.Because this means that only a few actions are required on the construction site, the assembly time and thus the costs per kilowatt of installed PV power are significantly reduced. In addition, flame-retardant building protection mats were used in this project. The Schletter Group has been working with MaxSolar GmbH for many years. In 2018 alone, Schletter supplied the project developer with assemblies for ten open space projects totaling 17.5 MW.Further projects are already being planned. The Schletter Group is one of the leading manufacturers of photovoltaic mounting systems made of aluminum and steel worldwide. The group of companies manufactures mounting systems for roofs, facades and open spaces (solar parks) as well as solar carports. With production sites in Germany, the USA and China as well as an international network of sales and service companies, the company is active in all important international markets. In total, the Schletter Group employs around 750 people.Email: sg@moeller-pr.deBy submitting this form, you consent to pv magazine using your data to publish your comment.Your personal data will only be passed on to third parties for the purpose of spam filtering or if this is necessary for technical maintenance of the website.Any further disclosure to third parties does not take place unless this is justified by applicable data protection regulations or pv magazine is legally obliged to do so.You can revoke this consent at any time with effect for the future. In this case, your personal data will be deleted immediately.Otherwise your data will be deleted when pv magazine processes your request or the purpose of data storage has been fulfilled.Further information on data protection can be found in our data protection declaration.Imprint Terms and Conditions Privacy Policy © pv magazine 2022
