In the Dominican Republic, the Schletter Group has installed three ground-mounted systems with a total of over 2.2 MWp.During project planning, the focus was on coping with high wind loads, since wind speeds of over 60 meters per second are often measured in the region.Only recently, in cooperation with Schletter, the largest solar power plant in the Caribbean region went online.Various other solar free-field systems and solar roof systems are currently under construction.Kirchdorf/Haag, March 6, 2017. The Schletter Group has completed three more solar projects in the Dominican Republic: In cooperation with the leading local project developer Trace Solar SRL, Schletter has installed three ground-mounted systems with a total of over 2.2 MWp.Only a few months ago, the largest solar power plant in the Caribbean region was connected to the grid there in cooperation with Schletter.Further PV open spaces and roof systems are currently under construction. The projects that have now been completed are a 503 kWp open-field system for the grain processor J. Miranda and the 741 kWp "Agrocosa" open-field system near Santiago de los Caballeros. Both companies are among the largest rice producers in the country. The third and, with 924.30 kWp, the largest open-air system was built on the premises of the fair-trade banana plantation "Guidom" near the village of Mao, the largest exporter of bananas in the Dominican Republic. In all three cases, the focus was once again on coping with high wind loads.Wind speeds of over 60 meters per second are often measured in the region. For this reason, the Schletter FSDuo 2V or FS Duo 3V mounting system made of hot-dip galvanized steel was selected for the installation of the Solarworld 325 Wp modules. The two-support system is anchored to the ground with two rammed foundations per support. In combination with load-optimized Z-purlins, a very stable substructure is created, which can also be assembled quickly. The fact that this system can withstand even much higher wind speeds was also proven in the Dominican Republic during the last hurricane season: Last October, the "Monte Plata" solar power plant, which was also installed with the Schletter FS Duo system, survived, with 34 MWp the largest solar power plant in the world Caribbean region, unscathed by Hurricane Matthew."Photovoltaics is increasingly becoming a mainstay of the energy infrastructure in the Caribbean region," said Tom Graf, Managing Director of the global Schletter Group."We are very well positioned in this growing market and are pleased that we can continue to drive this development forward." Schletter is currently working on other, larger projects in the Caribbean country. The Schletter Group is one of the world's leading manufacturers of photovoltaic mounting systems made of aluminum and steel. The group manufactures mounting systems for roofs, facades and open spaces (solar parks) as well as solar carports. With five production sites in Germany, the USA, Canada, China and South Africa as well as an international network of sales and service companies, the Schletter Group is active in all important international markets. The Schletter Group employs a total of around 1,300 people, around 600 of them at the headquarters in Kirchdorf/Haag.The group's turnover in 2015 was around 300 million euros.www.schletter-group.com Photo source: Trace SolarSave my name, email and website in this browser for the next time I comment.Notify me of follow-up comments via email.Notify me of new posts via email. All important information about the energy and mobility transition summarized for you weekly.Subscribe to our newsletter:All important information about the energy and mobility transition summarized for you weekly.Subscribe to our newsletter:About us Authors Advertise on EnergyloadReal green electricity Glass battery Graphene battery Supercapacitors & supercaps Saltwater batteries & saltwater accumulators Solid state batteries & solid state accumulator Tesla solar roof
