The global authority in superyachting
The fifth hull in the Mulder ThirtySix series is preparing for sea trials after hitting the water for the first time at the shipyard's Zoeterwoude facility in the Netherlands exactly one month ago.
Named Solemates, the 36 metre superyacht will head out towards Scheveningen to begin sea trials this Sunday. She will then return to the yard for the final stages of outfitting ahead of delivery next month.
She marks the first unit in the series to have been commissioned by an American owner and will join a fleet of Mulder yachts which includes Calypso, Mana I and Delta One.
The Mulder ThirtySix is built in aluminium and is defined by a slender profile and continuous window line that culminates in a contemporary plumb bow. Its exterior springs from the drawing boards of British design studio Claydon Reeves and with naval architecture by Van Oossanen Naval Architects.
The 298GT model has scooped a number of accolades since the launch of the first hull in 2017. Delta One went on to win a World Superyacht Award while its sistership, Calypso, scooped an interior design award at the BOAT International Design and Innovation Awards.
While details on Solemates remain slim, features of its fellow ThirtySix designs include a four-cabin layout with a flexible fifth cabin and full-beam mast suite, a transverse garage and a private seating area in the bow.
Once handed over to her owners, Solemates will be berthed in Palm Beach. The launch ceremony was an American-themed celebration to congratulate all of the employees and co-workers who were involved in her build.
News of the launch comes shortly after the shipyard announced the purchase of a new construction facility in The Netherlands with two construction sheds large enough for yachts up to 50 metres in length.
