Two bears were caught on a Ring security camera getting into a tense fight in a woman's carport located in South Lake Tahoe, California.

Lisa Quick shared the video on Facebook on June 18 showing the two bears scuffling and growling at each other. You can view it here.

According to the Get Bear Smart Society, a hierarchy is formed among bears based on the attitude of the dominant bear. A bear asserts its dominance with intimidation.

"Bears do not fight with each other unless it's absolutely necessary," the organization stated. "Fight risks injury, and that is not the bear's objective. It's all about posturing."

The two bears are seen running and crashing into each other at the start of Quick's video. They wrestle on the floor for a moment before both of them stand up on their hind legs and growl at each other.

One bear then walked away from the other bear to the back of the carport before the video ended.

Quick told ABC7 that she woke up to the growling sounds.

"I screamed and my dogs started barking and we ran out there to break it up," she said. "I see bears every single day but we've never had them fight before."

This is not the first time Quick has seen bears in or around her carport, though she told the outlet that they typically leave when she goes outside to chase them away.

The California Department of Fish and Wildlife reported that the black bear population has increased over the years.

While there were approximately between 10,000 and 15,000 bears throughout the state in 1982, that number has shot up to about 30,000 and 40,000 bears statewide.

The agency receives thousands of calls about black bear sightings each year.

"Many reports describe concerns of human-bear interactions escalating to property damage or conflict," the organization stated, noting that only a few sightings lead to the bear being identified as a threat to public safety.

Newsweek reached out to Lisa Quick for further comment.

Bears have been involved in several other encounters, including one captured on a surveillance camera showing two pigs fighting off a bear that got into their pen.

The footage, first captured by New Milford, Connecticut, resident Kevin David, was shared on the Reddit forum "Interesting As F**k," where it quickly went viral.

A 90-year-old woman from Sevierville, Tennessee, managed to fight off a bear with a lawn chair after it approached her.

Another security camera recorded a black bear trying to fight a woman who was in her front yard playing with her dog.
